“Coors Field claims to be the first and only US stadium to have built a wetlands area as part of an innovative storm management system. The new stadium is the home of baseball's Colorado Rockies. The storm system includes a cavernous vault that holds up to 330,000 gallons of run-off water. Six 700-by-30-foot constructed wetlands contain special microbes that feed on the stadium's run-off .”

“Denver's Coors field is not only home to the major league baseball team, the Colorado Rockies, but it is also home to a constructed wetland, which was created to help mitigate the impact of the stadium on the local aquifer and ground water. It is an excellent example of sustainable design in recreational facilities and of a sports enterprise taking responsibility for the waste and pollution it produces.”
